Overview
ClariNet™ is an end-to-end business management system, designed and built by ClearLife
to meet the specific requirements of participants in the life settlements market.
It manages all of the information necessary for a market participant to create,
set up, price, transact, risk manage and service a life insurance policy acquired
through a life settlement.
Historically, the life settlement market has lacked any standardization for information
security and information transmission. Policy and insured information moves between
market participants with variable degrees of security - cases are submitted via
unsecure email, FTP, facsimile and mail. There is limited protection of personal
identification and medical information. Many cases submitted for consideration are
unsuitable for settlement, for a variety of reasons - brokers and agents incur the
same fixed costs on these cases as they do on the cases which do settle, but in
the absence of a system which allows providers to communicate their buying parameters
in a secure manner, brokers must submit every possible case in order to determine
which will sell. Investors coming to the market for the first time are often perplexed
by the lack of standardization and the corresponding inefficiencies across what
is not one but fifty-one different markets.
ClariNet™ allows market participants to enjoy the benefits of a single business
management platform, with consistent representation of case information, the opportunity
to protect personal identification and medical information from disclosure except
on a "need to know" basis and the security of knowing that interaction
between participants is handled within ClariNet™'s user interface. It presents
a coherent user experience, allowing everyone from an agent to an investor to participate
more effectively in the transaction process.
ClariNet™ is offered as a modular system, hosted on ClearLife's servers in the
United States and available to all participants in the life settlements market.
