Case Management
The Case Management module is the cornerstone of ClariNet™. It allows the user to
carry out all of the functions associated with creating a Case in ClariNet™ and
to work with other market participants to move that Case through setup, pricing,
bid management and closing.
The first step is the creation and setup of a new Case. This can be done through
one of three methods - file upload (using either CSV or XML); wizard input; or form
input. The wizard input method is designed for new or less experienced users and
it guides them through the process of entering the basic information necessary to
take a Case forward for submission. The form input method is designed for those
familiar with the ClariNet™ experience and allows the user to enter all of the required
Case information in a single screen.
Less experienced users may be unfamiliar with the steps required to obtain a HIPAA
release, medical records and/or life expectancy reports. Again, ClariNet™ can assist
in simplifying and securing the process, offering the user an electronic conduit
to providers of these services so that the user can obtain medical records and life
expectancy reports without leaving the security of ClariNet™. The request flows
automatically to the user's chosen service providers, with delivery of the resulting
documents appearing on the user's home page on ClariNet™.
Once the Case has been set up in ClariNet™, the next step is submitting the Case
for consideration for purchase. Here, ClariNet™ helps providers and investors manage
submissions through its Licensing Gateway and Business Gateway:
- The Licensing Gateway can prevent Cases from being submitted to a provider for consideration
if the seller of the related policy is resident in a state in which either the submitting
broker or that provider is not appropriately licensed (according to license information
entered into ClariNet™ by the broker and that provider respectively).
- The Business Gateway allows providers and investors to limit the flow of Cases to
those within the scope for possible purchase, based upon such parameters as maximum
and minimum face amounts, minimum attained age, maximum and minimum life expectancy
and the inclusion of specified documents. Cases which do not meet the requirements
of the Business Gateway will be declined automatically when a broker or provider
begins the process of submitting the Case for consideration, minimizing the administrative
burden for all participants.
